It is a vital education program required to acquire your license to be able to sell accident and sickness and/or life insurance products. The types of licenses available under LLQP are two. Which are: 

• Life insurance agent license
• Accidents and Illness insurance agent license 

These are four modules of the LLQP education plan

• Accidents and Illness Insurance
• Ethics and Occupation Practices
• Life Insurance
• Isolated Financial Resources and Annuities.

In each module, however, you are required to sit for an exam whereby the qualifying mark is set at 60%.

One can qualify to obtain an accidents and sicknesses agent license after completing the first two modules.

However, to be able to attain a life insurance agent license, you are required to complete the above modules successfully. 

Eligibility for a life license qualification program

Before writing your provincial Life License Qualification Program modular exams, you need to finish up the pre-licensing LLQP successfully with an accredited provider who is approved. The program provider will then communicate with you about the necessary requirements as well as fees for the LLQP course.

After completing the LLQP license requirements in the Canada course successfully you proceed to the step which is to comply with your program provider to apply for the CIPR number. 

CIPR is basically a national account for a participant in the field of insurance. Upon registering for an insurance plan, you create a profile for a CIPR and forward your CIPR number to your program provider. When you pass all the exams under pre-licensing you are training in, your program provider updates your details on CIPR so that you can register for your provincial exams on licensing.

Registering for a CIPR number, you are required to provide your legal name. The name must however match your national ID which you were issued by the government to prove it is you. However, the picture in your national ID must also be identified with you in terms of appearance.

If these do not match the candidate cannot be authorized to take the LLQP module exams.

What is likely to happen if one fails the exam?

Fortunately, the candidate can write a module exam up to three times before the waiting time is activated.  After the third attempt, there will be a waiting time of three months which will begin its count after the third trial. 

There is another three-month waiting time from the fourth attempt before extending to six months waiting time for any other subsequent fail which is measured from the latest attempt.

How do you know you have passed all four modules to apply for a license?

When you complete all the four modules of LLQP license by PNC successfully, the office involved sends a letter of completion to the candidate’s most recent address. This address is obtained from the most recent exam. From that point, the results are sent in advance to candidates via email.
